Have you ever wanted to fly? .... like a bird? ... outside of an airplane? You can, you know. Hang Gliding is probably the closest you will ever get to flying like a bird.
We live near the landing point for one of the most popular hang gliding sites in the Los Angeles area. We see the gliders above our house most weekend days.
A few weeks ago, we went down to the landing field and talked to some of the people who have been hang gliding for a decade or two. Since they were all still alive, I decided it was safe to buy some introductory lessons for my son and husband.
I don't know how exciting these "flights" look, but I will tell you that the boys LOVED them and are willing to do just about anything to get back up there and fly some more. Once they have mastered the skills that they will be taught on the 25 foot sand dunes, they can get licensed to take off of the 3500 foot hill at the Flight Park.
This is one of my husband's first flights. Notice that the instructor is running up and down the hills all day.
Here is one of my son's first flights.
The name of the flying school is Windsports Soaring Center. You can check out their web site at www.windsports.com. Tell them that Bobbi sent you.

What are Bobbi's recommendations?
No one ever said that I was not opinionated. Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you that I am, indeed, opinionated. Not only am I opinionated, but I will gladly give you my opinion. (I do try and wait until you ask, but sadly, I am not always successful in keeping my thoughts to myself.)
So... the power of the blog is in me now and I can type my opinions for the world to see! (Well, maybe at least my sister, who is kind enough to try and read everything that I write, will read them.)
So, this blog is a place for me to tell you about all the really wonderful people, places and things that I have seen, heard about, visited, bought or eaten.
I hope you enjoy my recommendations and will try some of them out. Tell them: "Bobbi sent me."
